You have developed a new product and want to market it as profitably as possible. It is crucial that you can demonstrate the added value of your solution to your customers. It does not matter whether your customers are investors, companies, or end customers. The principle is always the same. In a loose sequence of posts, we would like to show you different methods that make the added value measurable.

The most obvious solution is to measure the added value with a recognized method. Often methods are used which are standardized. These measurement methods for different product categories and applications have been defined in so-called standards (ISO standards are internationally agreed by experts. Think of them as a formula that describes the best way of doing something). These can be simple physical measurements such as weight, strength, abrasion resistance or aging. However, very specific application criteria such as chewing cycles (dental restorations), steps (artificial knees, shoes) seating movements (upholstery) or mileage (car tires) can also be simulated. Preferably, you should base your measurements on international standards (national standards are not internationally comparable). Ideally, you should have your solutions tested by recognized test institutes or universities.

You can research the international standards at the ISO organization (https://www.iso.org/standards.html). To find recognized test institutes or universities, current publications are a good start.
